Summer Session provides the classroom instruction, while prayer, Sunday Mass, parish activities, and family participation help children continue growing in faith throughout the year.

Growing in Faith Together

The Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) at Sacred Heart partners with parents in helping children grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. Through prayer, catechesis, sacramental preparation, and participation in parish life, we help children deepen their Catholic faith and live as disciples of Christ.

PREP is offered for children in Grades 1–8 from registered Sacred Heart Parish families who are homeschooled, attend public schools, or non-Catholic private schools.

Families who are new to Sacred Heart, interested in becoming parishioners, or have a child who has not yet been baptized are encouraged to contact the Rectory Office at 610-275-1750. We would be happy to welcome your family and assist you with the next steps.

Summer Session Program

PREP is offered through a one-week Summer Session. During this week, students complete their grade-level religious education instruction through lessons, prayer, activities, and discussion.

Faith formation continues throughout the year through family participation, parish activities, sacramental preparation programs, and regular attendance at Sunday Mass.

Sacramental Preparation

Preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation is a two-year process that includes participation in PREP and additional sacramental preparation activities. Confirmation is celebrated at Sacred Heart on a biennial schedule.

Level 2: First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

Levels 7 and 8: Confirmation Preparation

If your child has not been baptized, please contact the Rectory Office at 610-275-1750 to discuss the preparation process.

Family Commitment

Parents are the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith. We ask families enrolled in PREP to:

Participate in Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation.

Support their child's faith formation at home through prayer and faith conversations.

Participate in parish life and family faith activities.

Attend required sacramental preparation sessions and meetings.

Make faith formation a priority when scheduling activities.

Faith formation is most effective when families, catechists, and the parish work together to nurture a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.
